Annaii Medical College and Hospital's Central Laboratory Services (CLS) provides excellent patient care and plays an important role in patient diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. Laboratory investigations, diagnosis, and patient treatment all go hand in hand when providing excellent patient care. As a result, laboratory diagnosis has taken on a prominent role in medical services, and lab services have become an essential component of health care delivery. The Central Laboratory Services, which is open around-the-clock, is where all laboratory investigations in the fields of Clinical Pathology, Hematology, Histopathology, Cytology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Serology are carried out. Software for Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) is utilized.
Modern equipment and automated analizers are available in the Pathology department for every investigation. The Pathology department houses a wide range of investigations, such as Clinical Pathology, Hematology, Exfoliative Cytology, Histopathology, Frozen section, Immunohistochemistry and Fine needle aspiration Cytology.
The Biochemistry section has automated analyzers and up-to-date equipment for all investigations. In addition to standard biochemistry tests such as blood glucose, lipid profile, cardiac profile, inflammatory markers, serum electrolytes, LFT, RFT, etc., endocrinology investigations include thyroid profiles, fertility tests, and specialized tests such as tumour markers, vitamin B12, vitamin D, and HbA1c are carried out.
The Department of Microbiology offers a Bacteriology, Immunology, Mycobacteriology, Serology, Parasitology, Mycology and diagnostic Molecular Biology. Regular cultures and sensitivity tests of body fluids such as blood, urine, pus, swabs, etc. are carried out. Serology, such as Dengue, Leptospirosis, Enteric fever and blood borne viral infection panel (HIV, HBV, HCV, and SYPHILIS) are done. In addition, we have a fully operational diagnostic molecular laboratory and RT-PCR equipment.
